Howdy folks. I mainly (try) to produce psytrance but have attempted my first uplifting trance track.
Any feedback welcome. I'll note that I do have a 2nd revision of this which is "nearly done" which adds a bit more low end and shortens the track slightly, mainly cut from the middle section.
@sib3r Loving this one mate.
I'm only listening on my laptop speakers at the minute, but I'll take another few listens on the headphones later and drop some proper feedback 👊
In case you want to say thank you 👍

Can't comment on structure or style as it's not my bag to be honest. I think it could do with a bit more of a play with the mixdown. My first thought was that I'm struggling to hear the kick drum over the bassline. Other than that it sounds pretty decent
@tim_clewz Thank you much appreciated 🙂 Will look to take these into account 🙂
Liked it!
Liked the structure. Maybe a tiny bit more kick and imo I think the synths and/or the bass is masking the voice. The overall sound is pretty good.
Question: - do you rely mostly on sample packs or do you do make your sounds from scratch?
Cheers!
@xplunka Hey mate sorry just seen this, yea I def need to sort the low end out that's for sure! Thank you for sharing the same feedback.
So the only samples I use, are vocals, and various one shots for kick, snare, hats etc. All the synth.main leads I make myself, along with the bass and/or bass patches.
Some FX I make/mould myself and others are from splice. I like making my own risers in some of my tracks 🙂
@sib3r Ez dude. Cheers for the patience. Madness here!
I'm loving whats here. The riffs, bass pattern, arrangement, vocal, and musicality are all great. I'd say its 90% of the way there.
Like you and the others mentioned, definitely get that kick punching through some more, add a bit more in the low end, and tweak the levels slightly.
Try using a reference track to A/B the levels against so that you can get to the finish line quicker.
Trance is a tough one cus it's so layered. It's the subtle stuff in the background that gives it the depth and movement.
I watched this video the other day that explains it well. I'm gonna go back to my last Trance WIP using these tips myself:

@riggsy_dharkfunkh Hey man, no problem at all re the delay, your a busy man 🙂
Thank you for the feedback, very valuable, will definitely get those changes made, and will check out that video 🙂
@xplunka I know there is a bloody lot of them and hard to decide sometimes. Alot of trial and error. One of the easiest synths I use that I find also helps teach you the sound design aspects (Mainly cos it's so slick to use and the visual feedback is amazing) is VITAL, and it's FREE 🙂 There is a massive amount of amazing free presents out there for this, which can be used as is or used as a a starting point and you can play around with them. Hit me up if you want the presets shared.
@Sib3r I actually have the free version of Vital and I´ve been neglecting it. Gonna explore it more and yes, I would like to grab my hand on those presets. 😀
Being a rock guy 🙂, I´m just discovering the synth world. I have Serum (of course) and a bunch of other synths laying around my daw. What is your opinion on Pigments 6? Thanks n Cheers!
@xplunka I'll round them up for you when I'm back on my workstation 🙂
So I don't yet have SERUM... I'll get it one day but I'm a bit of a cheapskate.
I do have pigments, I managed to get Pigments 5 for about £70. And of course they have just released V6 and I get a free upgrade so need to test that out. Pigments 5 though I have enjoyed using. I feel if it was slightly more slick like vital it would be perfect.
@Sib3r Thanks! That is going to help a lot!
They have an intro price for Pigments 6 for 69 euros. I think I might buy it...especially because of the free upgrades. I´ve watched a demo in Youtube and although it looked a bit complex, in a medium turn, it might turn into a power tool. 🙂
@xplunka @sib3r Pigments is definitely worth getting. Some really nice sounds in there.
I still didn't install the upgrade to 6 yet though. Have either of your tried it? I'm gonna watch some YouTube videos on it now and see whats new...

@xplunka Awesome. I'm gonna do the upgrade when I get to the studio today. The v6 updates looks good. I watched this video on it earlier.

@riggsy_dharkfunkh I watched too. That´s the one that sold me the thing. 🙂
