This year I'm challenging myself to get back into making music after 5 or 6 years of not doing too much. I used to have an improvisational ensemble / supergroup called Human Energy Field where anywhere from 3 - 8 members would perform on stage at once. At times it was chaos, usually it was very harmonious, but it was always an absolute blast. I really miss it, and making music by myself has never been as fun. That said, it can still be therapeutic and very rewarding. Even though I'm not classically trained and don't have a ton of fancy equipment, I've done quite a lot that I'm very proud of. All of my releases are just me, a synth (or two), and my sampler. Sometimes an effect pedal. Many of my earliest experiments were recorded directly to tape. I've been described as "ambient dance sample magic" but I think I've since gone full speed ahead on the psychedelic drone / cosmic ambient vibes.

Here are my favorite releases of old:

And here's what I've managed to release this year, in order of favorites:

Thanks to the radio programs Pacific Notions (KEXP), Dark Train Radio (Warminster Community Radio), Space is the Place (CandoFM), Funderground (CAMP), It Came From Enclosure Three (Mad Wasp Radio), and Trevlad Sounds (Mixcloud) for spinning my stuff.

My favorite Human Energy Field sets (many more on my YouTube):

Awesome stuff mate. Fair play getting back into it. I'm gonna have listen through and watch the videos now.

Did you see my other post with the link about how to add players into posts? I've found that adding the players directly into the posts makes it a lot easier for people to listen. Most people don't like clicking off platform to listen to stuff, especially for multiple links.

If you use the embed code from bandcamp and put it in the 'source code' section when making your post, which is the little icon that looks like this {;} then your players show up in the posts (like how I posted yours above). You'll get a lot more listens that way 😉
