Good morning guys n gals, super exited to be apart of this.
So some of you know me personally, some of you know me for my tracks, some of may have heard of me. I've been into hard house since the beginning. Well before that. When we knew it as handbag/hardbag house cos you only really heard it in gay events/clubs .I first went to an event called Imagination, it's 1st birthday bash at Camden Palace in 1997, believe it or not I was a garage head then and me and my mates rocked up in trousers, shoes and bright shirts thinking it was a garage event and instead we got a shock, however my mates all left by 2am I'd made new friends there and ended up staying til close. Djs on the night I remembered were John OO Fleming, Blu Peter, Miss Woods, Orange peel and Tony de Vit played last, his set was different to the others and his energy and pace opened my eyes and changed my perception on music forever. I then ended up at Trade where I met and had a laugh with Pete Wardman who to this day remains one of my closest friends.
I started mixing trance in my bedroom 1998 after purchasing a pair of Numark TT1s and a gemimi PS626X mixer. 1210s followed two years later. Every Saturday I lived for record shopping spending the whole day going from Elite records in Victoria to Soho for Plastic fantastic and choccis then to Oxford circus for Kinetic records and always finishing at Pure groove in Archway.
I got my first set in 2005 when working in sandwich bar discovering one of our regular customers also played hard house after asking him one morning how his weekend was. He said he'd DJ'd out. I asked him what he played, he said hard house I said I'd mix it too. So the next day I gave him three of my mixtapes. The next week he came in and said he and his mates had listened and one of them wanted to book me for her event Twatted HARD in 5 weeks time. So fast forward, I opened up 2 hour set @George IV in Brixton, the worst possible set of decks to play on for your first set, but nevertheless I smashed it opting to play a bounce set. I was given Residency on the spot and also for the sister event NRGized, and was invited to play for an event called Flashbak again I got residency. Within 6 months I had min of 2 sets a weekend sometime up to 5(bear in mind as Terry Fursland) because no-one played my fast NRG style bounce, events such as Hazardous, Huje, Heat, The Gathering, Vital, Sundaze, became a regular for my sets. I also took over Twatted HARD as promoter having three successful years @The Telegraph, and The Medusa venues.
My journey into production started around 2011 when good pal Tony Kaos showed me how to arrange and make some sick beats. But it wasn't until 2013 when I meet a young chat called Somny Summers at event I played at in Southend called Real Mad clubbers@SS1 club. We made a couple of successful collaboration, our first track Revenge of Mandy went to toolbox no 1 within in a week of release and was supported by the likes of Lucy Fur, Andy Farley. By that time I'd stopped playing bounce and went for a faster more NRG style tough groove, enter The Mungrel. We spent two years making my own sound. And would be become known across the board. And up to today.
